The "Rock n Roll Video Show"
(Thee Music Video Television Show)
The “Rock N Roll Video Show” is a love letter to the early days of music video television with two musicians picking out exceptional rock ‘n’ roll music videos from their unique music video library and connecting them together with an enigmatic theme, wild segments, and general madness. Each episode showcases the best music videos from bands who use drums and amplified instruments to make people dance and/or rock out. The show begins airing monthly on the fourth Saturday of every month on WEIU-TV (full power broadcasting from central Illinois) starting in January 2026 and also distributed on television exchanges.

Why We Made This Television Show: Logo for the Rock n Roll Video Show
We love rock n roll, music videos, and when television was made with love. Currently, there are no outlets for the videos of bands who dare to make people dance by using drums and amplification. The handful of independent shows focus solely on new videos, the OTT channels are often a playlist, and national outlets are looking for largely non-rock n roll music from bigger artists. As a fabulous rock n roll band ourselves (The Ex-Bombers), we believe that great rock n roll videos deserve a spotlight (no matter the size of the band), that it is more important to have good videos instead of just new videos, and that every episode should be evergreen and hold up to multiple viewings.

Distribution / Where You Can See It:
The “Rock n Roll Video Show” will begin airing in central Illinois on WEIU-TV starting in January 2026 on the fourth Saturday of every month for its first airing of new episodes and repeated in off-peak timeslots. Each episode will also be distributed via television exchanges for terrestrial television stations to program in their schedules. Moving forward, the show will seek additional distribution on additional terrestrial / cable / OTT television stations and channels.

Sonic & Visual Requirements for Our Music Video Library:
Our music video is a unique collection of both bands you have heard of and others that you really need to know about. If you make rock n roll music, we would LOVE to have your music video be a part of our music video library where it could be included in multiple episodes (that’s right, it doesn’t need to be new, just needs to be good!). Here’s the style of music video to submit:

  • If your music video is one of the genres of rock n roll, has people playing amplified instruments, and tells a story, chances are that we’ll love it!
  • Musically, it is an original song in one of the many genres of rock n roll. Rock n roll bands use drums and amplified instruments to make people dance and / or rock out. This includes many genres like (but not limited to): Garage rock, powerpop, glam rock, psychedelic, punk rock, some indie rock, blues rock, boogie rock, certain prog rock, sometimes alternative / grunge, guitar rock, surf rock, classic rock, and more. Again, if it is amplified with drums, and it makes people dance or rock out, then it fits right in. Also, the music must 100% be made by humans and the video music be shot by humans (AI is not rock n roll) and must be your own origianl music (no covers).
  • The music video is filmed by people and has people in it. Please no lyric videos, found footage videos, or computer generated animation. Also, no live performances please. It’s not the spirit of the show.

  • How to Submit a Music Video:
Here’s what we need to get it in the library and on the show! Give it a read and then fill out the submission form at the bottom. We watch every single submission that is a rock and roll music video and there is no fee for bands to submit videos, nor a fee to be included on the show. What we need:
  • Band Name
  • Track Name
  • Year originally released (remember, we want good videos and do not care about the year it was made!)
  • An HD Master of the music video (1920 x 1080 - progressive - 24 fps) in file form. Ideally it would be Apple Pro Res 422 (HQ) and a QuickTime file. Mp4 can work too. In a perfect world you have a Broadcast master (that is cleared and subtitled). That being said, we can work with what you have, provided it’s a file, it’s in sync, and shot in landscape. Google Drive, DropBox, etc. works.
  • A clean WAV file of the song (our goal is a TVPG rating, so it needs to be clean). If this isn’t available, let us know and we’ll make the edits by ducking the track.
  • Lyrics of the song. We have to closed-caption everything on the show, because it is airing on full-power broadcast television. Lyrics are necessary to make this broadcast happen.
  • Record Label
  • Music Video Director
  • Songwriter(s)
  • Band members’ names / what they played
  • A brief bio (2-3 sentences) for the band so we can talk about you on the show and introduce you to the audience. This should include location, how you talk about your sound, and anything you might be known for.
  • A few notes on why this video and song are awesome (things we should notice, neat stories / cameos / places) to give us things to talk about when we introduce it.
  • Ownership of the music video and song, and the rights to distribute it along with a romotional photo of the band and a logo that we have the rights to distribute
  • Full legal name, phone number, email, and address of contact person for the video, along with the agreement to our non-exclusive license (complete details of the agreement are on the form). We need to keep this on file.
